R&B's the genre du jour – you'd be hard pressed to find anyone to disagree with you on that front. 2013 was dominated by the slickest, sleekest sounds of soulful pop, laced with hints of classic '90s artists like D'Angelo or TLC. A member of this fashionable cadre is West Londoner Kaleem Taylor, who, despite his short tenure in the industry, has already worked alongside Miguel and Boys II Men.



The heartfelt crooner's had a few well-received slivers of music already, the most prominent being his EPs Smooth and Alone. Released in 2011 and 2012 respectively, it'd been a while since we had something substantial from Taylor – but that all changed late last year with the arrival of 'Lost In Amazement' as well as a collaboration with Tchami, a member of the Fool's Gold roster.

The aforementioned 'Lost In Amazement' glistens like liquid mercury, oozing a seductive charm and glossy swagger. Sublime production plagues the cut, with wobbling bass stabs and relentless beats pulsing throughout; the synths twinkle like a clear night sky with a healthy dose of neo-house á la Disclosure. It's a pristine jewel musically, but also riddled with the earnest emotion the genre is famous for.

Kaleem Taylor's definitely one to watch for 2014. Expect great things from him as he embarks upon his campaign to win over hearts around the globe – a campaign you'd be wise to bet on him finishing victorious. As his career gathers steam, it's unlikely that you'll be able to avoid his golden pipes gracing airwaves across the nation, either appearing as a special guest or simply being irresistible by his lonesome.
