Lorelle Meets the Obsolete: Additional Tour Dates And New Single Ave En Reversa
Alt rock luminaries head to the UK for shows next month
Mexican alt rock doyens Lorelle Meets the Obsolete have released direct, punchy new single Ave En Reversa to flag up their UK tour next month.
Taken from the duo’s acclaimed recent LP Datura, the cut evokes US indie rock titans Sonic Youth and Pavement and comes backed with hypnotic visuals by director Nika Milano. Translated as ‘bird in reverse’ the lyrics were inspired by “strange dreams and personal thoughts†mixed with the work of Peruvian poet Mario Montalbetti according to singer/guitarist Lorena Quintanilla.
With a gig apiece in France and Switzerland beforehand, LMTO have announced additional shows for their UK tour (see below for details). On the other side of the Atlantic, the group have also confirmed five new gigs Stateside supporting psych rock veterans LSD and the Search For God. A double hit of festivals, Psyched! in San Francisco and a fixture at the legendary Levitation festival in Austin, Texas concludes the jaunt in late October.
