HOO Resurfacing following Slowdive’s highly successful return in 2017, Neil Halstead has teamed up with Nick Holton of alt. country act Coley Park and Holton’s Opulent Oog guesting on the new HOO EP The Mighty, premiered here.

The project is seems Halstead and Holton working together again following 2013s much admired Black Hearted Brother project. Joined by venerated folk artist Jackie Oates and former Slowdive / Mojave 3 drummer Ian McCutcheon, HOO have unveiled the first fruits of their collaboration, The Mighty.

Picking up where BHB’s Stars Are Our Home debut LP left off, The Mighty combines Mazzy Star -esque dreaminess with Brian Eno ambient textures and shoegazing guitars.

Featuring Robin Bennett from The Dreaming Spires on flute, the track comes backed with a suitably woozy video by filmmaker I Claud. A beautifully slow-rolling sliver of dream pop, the cut is the title track for the outfit’s debut EP, due for release on March 15th.

Released through Big Potato Records, the outfit release their debut LP The Centipede Wisdom on June 7th. With live dates in the pipeline, the group have confirmed an appearance at Truck Festival on July 26th.
