Something For The Weekend:  London Random Magic Halloween Special Fifteen years or so ago Halloween in the UK was a non-event. For one night of the year corner shop owners made a few extra pennies on eggs and flour and sex offenders had the rare opportunity to work from home (the internet was a rare commodity back then). Luckily for fans of having fun that has all changed, and now Halloween is another great reason to put on an extra special party. A strong contender for London’s top pick this year is Random Magic’s Halloween Special at Fire in Vauxhall on Saturday October 26th.
Heading up Bearded favourite Futureboogie Recordings bill is special guest Omar S (pictured); owner of consistently spiffy label FXHE and all round good egg. Alongside him is Maxxi Soundsystem, Christophe, Lukas and Hackman, who recently dropped an excellent EP on Futureboogie as one half of Bruh Jackman and Futureboogie residents Dave ‘El Harvo’ Harvey & Joe 90.

Next in proceedings are Classic vs Horse Meat Disco which sees Classic owner Luke Solomon alongside New York’s Honey Dijon, Dalston’s Dan Beaumont and the whole Horse Meat Disco family who, if you don’t know. Well. Expect disco… and stallions.
Bill three sees Optimo residents JD Twitch & JG Wilkes playing an all-night session, which, based on previous Optimo events, could be anything. Quite literally.

Ahead of the party why not get some heritage in your system as Dan Beaumont speaks to HMD’s Severino & Classic’s Luke Solomon about their legendary club nights, disco, and rescuing records from burning buildings.
