Six Organs Of Admittance UK Tour News Californian guitarist Ben Chasney returns to UK shores for the first time since 2015 with his long-standing Six Organs Of Admittance project. Kicking off in 1998 with an eponymous debut album, Six Organs Of Admittance has tapped into the East-meets-West solo guitar musings of John Fahey and Robbie Basho to create a sound dubbed New Weird America, veering over the years between dark psychedelic drones and gentler acoustic finger-picking.

While 2015 saw Chasney big up his dark side with the album Hexadic – created using a new compositional technique based on playing cards – he balanced that with a less in-your-face acoustic complement Hexadic II. And it's the latter approach that dominates latest album Burning the Threshold issued in February that will form the backbone of his eight upcoming UK dates.

While sharing the folk roots of a Drag City label mates like Devendra Banhart, Six Organs of Admittance's use of drones, chimes and eclectic percussive elements is closer to distinctive contemporaries like folk drone meister Harvestman who issued acclaimed new album Music For Megaliths last month.

Though mostly created solo, Burning the Threshold also features the singing talents of Alex Nielson (Trembling Bells), Haley Fohr and Damon and Naomi; the drumming of Chris Corsano; a guitar duet with Ryley Walker; plus keys and mixing from Cooper Crain. Expect inventive evenings offering a beautiful swoop into a blissed out world.
