Premiere: King Hannah Unveil Debut Single Crème Brûlée Ascendant Liverpool-based outfit King Hannah have unveiled their debut single Crème Brûlée, a slow rolling, heat hazed slice of Americana.

Redolent of Mazzy Star and US psych legends Jefferson Airplane in lead singer Hannah Merrick’s Grace Slick-esque vocals, the track possesses the dream-like atmosphere of The War On Drugs and Kurt Vile.

Given the intriguing title, lead singer Hannah dispels any theories connected to the lyrics, saying of the “Crème Brûlée is about Crème Brûlée and my love for it. Essentially, I'm singing about a pudding”, something underlined with the press shot for the track.

A highly accomplished debut, King Hannah have already scored some impressive praise from Gordon Raphael, producer for The Strokes. “Genuinely unique sound, very honest and real and not trying to copy the exact style of the day…which always bores me a lot! Well done in other words”.

The vocalist’s imagination fired by “hearing bands like Blur, Portishead and Alanis Morissette coming from my big sister's bedroom and loving it”, the group features Craig, Dylan and Jake alongside Hannah. Stalwarts of he Liverpool gig circuit, the quartet have notched up highly praised appearances at Sound City and in support of fellow psych adherents Sugar Candy Mountain.
