L’Epee Release Stunning Psychedelic Debut Single Dreams

A band who arrive with a near-matchless provenance, new psych rock quartet L’Epee comprise of The Brian Jonestown Massacre mainman Anton Newcombe with Lionel + Marie Limiñana (The Limiñanas) and actress / musician Emmanuelle Seigner (Ultra Orange & Emmanuelle).

The group’s debut single Dreams, issued through Newcombe’s A Recordings label on 17th May is a psychedelic gem juxtaposing the BJMs deep-pile guitar tracks with The Limiñanas' dark yé-yé pop formula and Seigner’s strong lead vocal melody.

The project came about, when psych stalwarts Limiñanas recorded 2018 LP Shadow People (2018) with Newcombe. The excellent title track featured Seigner on guest vocals and the dynamic in the studio led to a collaboration between the four.



Taking their name from the French word for sword, which came to Newcombe in a dream, the band’s debut LP album Diabolique is due for release in June. Recorded in Cabestany, France and at Anton’s Cobra Studio in Berlin, tour dates will be announced nearer to the release date.
