Boom Bap Festival Announces First Wave of Acts for 2016 The UK's premier hip-hop festival is back. It only seems like yesterday that we were waking up with splitting headaches in the middle of the East Anglian countryside, but it's drawing ever closer again, (2015 review) With headline performances from The Four Owls, Skepta and Foreign Beggars in 2015, and a line-up with a host of reputable names from both the UK and the United States, the festival has grown in stature to bigger than ever before, and in 2016, Boom Bap Festival is taking it to the next level.

Continuing to branch out from solely our Great British shores, New York veteran R.A. The Rugged Man, A-F-R-O and Da$h make up the three major US names on the first line-up announcement. R.A.'s live reputation precedes him, and he will be touching down in Mildenhall along with A-F-R-O, who has made a name as Rugged Man's protege, demonstrating a wickedly high-tempo flow and faultless freestyle ability. New Jersey MC Da$h, representing the A$AP Mob, has also gained acclaim and hype, with a series of quality mixtapes and high profile collaborations.

We're not left without any hometown heroes though, far bloody from it. Chester P, Farma G and Louis Slipperz will reunite for an exclusive Task Force set, as will legendary trio Phi Life Cypher. The highly influential Blade is also on the bill; the London MC exploded onto the music scene in the late eighties, and was an important member of the British rap scene until his retirement in 2006. Ten years on he will take to the stage again, and what better way to return than playing to a field full of hip-hop enthusiasts.

Also included on the first announcement are D Double E, Ocean Wisdom, Dirty Dike, Cult Of The Damned, Edward Scissortongue and many more. This isn't even the full line-up people, so keep an eye on Bearded for future updates.

Boom Bap festival runs 29th - 31st July 2016, at Mildenhall Stadium, Suffolk
