Merseyside alt. rock quartet Bird have just unveiled superlative new single ‘A War’, the second track to be pulled from the band’s highly anticipated debut LP My Fear and Me.

The follow up to acclaimed lead track ‘The Rain Song’, a firm favourite of BBC 6Music, ‘A War’ is available to download from Monday 5th May.

Showcasing the band’s live power, the cut mixes gothic guitar motifs with thunderous tribal drums and the siren-esque vocals of Adele Emmas.

Backed with a stunning black and white video shot by frequent band collaborators Austin Ray and Ben Roberts, the clip seemingly references two horror classics, transposing the twin sisters from The Shining to the basement of Norman Bates’ house in Psycho, complete with swinging lightbulb.

A War is released on May 5th through Baltic Records
