The Primitives Indie pop pioneers The Primitives have returned to the fray with superb new single Don’t Know Where To Start. Their first new material in five years, the girl group inspired track pairs lead singer Tracy Tracy’s hallmark vocals with the group’s fuzzed up jangle pop.

Issued as a traditional 7" single the B-side, Velvet Underground influenced cut Till I’m Alive sees guitarist / vocalist Paul Court step into the spotlight to take lead vocals.

Recorded earlier this year in the band’s hometown Coventry, the single is available as a number stamped limited edition 7” single (300 copies) plus download code through the group’s label Purifying Tone. A limited edition four track 12” version meanwhile will be released in the US through HHBTM.

Turning to live work, the quartet have announced a string of UK dates to celebrate the thirty-fifth anniversary of their classic debut LP Lovely in May 2023.

Originally released in March 1988, the set features a wealth of power pop gems including Stop Killing Me, Thru the Flowers, Out of Reach and worldwide hit Crash.

The group outlined the format of the gigs on their Facebook page stating, “The shows will include a mini acoustic set in the middle of a regular set, featuring tracks off Lovely that we don’t normally play live… along with all the old favourites”.
