Shards Release Stunning New Dream Pop Gem My Birthday

A track that will lift the Autumn gloom, Liverpool dream pop outfit Shards make a superb return with gorgeous new track My Birthday, available on all streaming platforms here.

A gliding piece of melodic indie pop led by cascading guitar arpeggios that hinges on its melancholic chorus, My Birthday continues the quartet’s steady ascent following a string of impressive support slots and the backing of BBC 6 Music.

Released through burgeoning Liverpool label Jacaranda Records, the cut takes full advantage of the label’s “immersive first” approach, the less-is-more musicianship making the most of the spacious production.

Taking an innovative approach to releases, Shards’ previous single Reflections has recently been re-imagined as Refractions EP, which showcased a multi angle showcase to the song, stripping it down its constituent parts accompanied by suitably swirling visuals.
