Indie Legends The House of Love Announce EU & UK Tour Dates

Shoegaze pioneers celebrate their 1990-93 era, support on UK dates comes from indie pop doyens The Primitives

The House of Love Indie rock legends and shoegaze pioneers The House of Love have announced an EU and UK tour for this autumn and winter, with the UK tranche of dates featuring indie pop doyens The Primitives as support.

Billed as the Burn Down The World Tour: The Fontana Years, the dates focus on the three The House of Love albums issued by by the label between 1990 – 93. The run of The House of Love (aka Fontana or The Butterfly Album), Babe Rainbow and Audience with the Mind saw the group become critical darlings and develop a cult audience. The group’s acclaimed 1990 release features the band’s calling card, classic single Shine On.

Led by songwriter Guy Chadwick, the London band have been cited as a formative influence on shoegazers Ride and Slowdive. The outfit's 1988 track Love in a Car recently featured in the acclaimed Netflix adaptation of David Nichols’ novel One Day, set in the same year.



Following European dates The House of Love are supported on the UK leg by jangle pop specialists The Primitives. The Coventry group recently released new single I Won’t Care on vinyl and are set to release a tenth anniversary edition of their 2014 LP Spin-O-Rama later this month. The billing changes places for one night on the jaunt, as the Prims headline the concluding date of the tour at 229, London.
