Broken Records Release New Single You Won’t Be There And Announce Live Shows
Storied Edinburgh indie rock outfit issue new track ahead of fifth album due later this year
Storied Scottish indie rock group Broken Records have returned with new single You Won’t Be There, the first track from their upcoming album due later this year.
The first new material by the band since 2018, the track reminiscent of Bruce Springsteen in unplugged mode and Glaswegian indie rock legends The Blue Nile, comes backed with a lyric video. The as yet untitled new LP the band’s fifth, has been described by frontman Jamie Sutherland as “A quiet, late-night recordâ€, citing classic R.E.M. albums Out of Time, Automatic for the People and New Adventures in Hi-Fi as inspiration.
Following a free show on Record Store Day last month at St. Vincent Chapel on home turf in Edinburgh, Broken Records have two shows later this month.
Broken Records shows:
Fri 19 May, MacArts, Galashiels
Sun 3 Jun, PJ Molloys Dunfermline
