The Rinse Mix Series Gets A Grimey Buttering Up!

If you've been following my bass & hip-hop columns respectively over the past few months (and you bloody well should've been) you will hopefully have already stumbled upon the grimey delights of Butterz, the UK label run by Rinse FM regulars Elijah & Skilliam. If you are yet to ingest a slice of one of the most reliable labels currently putting stock on the shelves of any self respecting record store stay calm, as the duo have been left unattended at the helm for the newest addition to the reliable like a Hobnob biscuit in your tea Rinse Mix series.

Picking up from Ben UFO, who recently dropped the 16th instalment, Elijah & Skilliam will be bringing a stack of their Butterz finest to the dance alongside some exclusive dubplates and other aural treats for the 17th mix, which will be released through Rinse on Monday 14th November. From seminal mc Trim's genius 'I Am' through the garage inflected rave up that was P-Money and Black's 'Boo You' to DJ Q's 'Woooo' remix the Butterz back catalogue is certainly in fine fettle on the disc. Chuck in Faze Miyake's 'Take Off', some prime Starkey sounds, a Wiley remix from long standing Butterz collaborator Royal-T and 'Tag', the bonkers producer battle between Swindle, Wizzy Wow, Rude Kid and Terror Danjah which has only been aired a couple of times on the duo's Rinse show (and it's a beast if you did miss it) and you can more or less say Christmas has come early. As an additional festive bonus this won't leave loads of shit in your fridge that no one wants to eat in the first place, let alone in a sandwich a fortnight later.
