Something For The Weekend: Croydon Yes this weekend Croydon, arguably the birthplace of dubstep (not to mention home to bass music creatives of many genres) is getting a little nip/tuck in the night out department courtesy of the Croydon Basslift team.

On Saturday 2nd February at Scream in Croydon this new group of promoters will be bring an eclectic blend of styles to your ears for only a cheeky little fiver.

In Room 1 there's the heavyweight dubstep stylings of Rood.FM head producer Fish going back to back with Hench heavyweight Beezy (pictured) as well as the like of Pistons Beneath (who dropped a couple of gems on Mindstep Music) Combine, Bacon Dubs representative Reamz and Bassclash remix contest runner's up Nightmare & Oni.

Room 2, presented by Croydon's Loft Party Records takes things on a house, garage, techno and that slippery UK bass flex with the like of Solitude, L.A Boxers, Watson and Amin whilst Room 3 sees Mr Gats, Matt Le Moo, Buddhist Palm and Mosaic spinning funk, Motown, hip-hop and all manner of golden beats & breaks.

So this Saturday why not support your local, independent bass music promoters 'Beards!?
