bdrmm Hull dreampop mavens bdrmm have unveiled a new version of recent single A Reason To Celebrate, remixed by Ride guitarist Andy Bell.

Out today on all digital platforms, the track sees the guitarist in his GLOK guise, transforming the anthemic, Smashing Pumpkins-esque original into a Krautrock inspired six-minute epic.

The shoegaze pioneers are a treasured influence on bdrmm as drummer Luke Irvin states, “It’s so surreal, in my first ever band we used to cover Vapour Trail by Ride and now Mr Ride has remixed one of our tracks! It's mind-blowing!”. bdrmm singer/guitarist Ryan Smith said of the remix, “It fucking bangs. Hats off to the chief.”

The original version of A Reason To Celebrate appears on the quintet’s debut LP Bedroom, due for release on July 3. Issued through cult shoegaze label Sonic Cathedral, the disc was recorded by Alex Greaves (Working Mens Club, Bo Ningen) and mastered by Heba Kadry (Slowdive, Beach House).

The band have announced a tranche of European dates in support of the LP kicking off in early September, see below of details.

Bedroom is released through Sonic Cathedral on 3rd July. Pre-order here
