SHARDS Release Lyric Video For New Single 2020 (I Want To Go Home) Merseyside dream pop weavers SHARDS have released the lyric video for sparkling new single 2020 (I Want To Go Home).

Drawing inspiration from shoegaze outfits DIIV and Real Estate, the song’s theme of taking solace in the comfort of home is perfectly suited to current lockdown era.

Comprising of Alex McKenzie (vocals and guitar), Paddy Gullidge (guitar), Dan Jones (bass), Cain Garcia (drums), SHARDS said of the track, “2020 encompasses the feeling of safety, nostalgia and the comfort of youth. A feeling of everything in its right place, approaching adulthood, this feeling is ripped away, revealing all the anxieties of life and coming of age”.

Matching the nostalgic theme of the music, the accompanying video was filmed across the group’s home county of Merseyside. Bringing together footage of the group in locations in Liverpool and Wirral, with scenes from their live shows, the fuzzy film stock is evocative of the clip being shot on a old school camcorder.

2020 (I Want To Go Home) is out now through Jacaranda Records
