Preview: Rumble! Festival, Lyon 06-17.03.13

Summer, and in particular festival season, is always an important time in a music fan's calendar. Especially for us British, who apparently can't deal with a bit of drizzle and half an inch of snow without proclaiming the apocalypse and taking three quarters of January off work. And for a nation who like to beat our chest and proclaim how wonderful we are we don't half love going abroad. But summer is a long way off, and the weather is less than tropical... and it will probably still be that way come June.

Therefore we should all salute our kindly French neighbours in Lyon, who are gearing up for another Rumble! Festival, now in its 3rd year.

Rumble brings together all disciplines of art and culture; from live acts and DJ's to illustrators, visual artists and filmmakers, all under the gloriously vague "bass" music banner.

To give an idea of the sounds on show some of the acts performing include Hudson Mohawke & Rustie, Andy C, Mosca, Om Unit, Dismantle, Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team (pictured), J:Kenzo, Mono / Poly, Jay Weed and Panda Dub.

Whilst tickling your visual fancy will be regular Swamp 81 collaborator Ashes57, visual artist Sophie Le Meillour (who's intriguing ‘Nut Nut’ video you can view HERE) visual installation artist Mysterious Kid, as well as WSK, Vizual Invaders and many more.
