Garage rock debut cut comes backed with suitably psychedelic visuals

Dr Orange Ascendant Liverpool outfit Dr Orange recently unveiled their debut single Comes In Threes, a fuzzed out slice of 1960s inspired psych rock.

The alter ego of songwriter Chas Moody formerly of cult Merseyside band Ladies, the Nuggets-esque track comes backed with a suitably trippy video.

Produced by Jon Withnall, who has engineering credits with the luminaries including The Coral, Doves and Coldplay, the track was originally planned for a July release accompanied by a string of UK gigs, the uncertain nature of 2020 leading to shows being put in the back burner and a fast-tracked release.

Dr Orange says of the track, “Comes in Threes is one of the rare times you write a three minute song in three minutes. Usually when I’ve tried to take my music in a certain direction my subconscious has answered by writing every style of song other than the one I want to. This tune, however, dropped out of nowhere and was on the money. Roughly speaking the songs about mental health and some of the patterns and rules I’ve come to realise I follow”.

With two further singles to be released this year, Moody is also featured as co-writer on Darling, the soon to be released single by acclaimed Liverpool singer Aimée Steven.
