Aussie Shoegazers Flyying Colours Issue Video For New Single Big Mess & Announce UK / EU Tour

Melbourne dream pop quartet return with new single and visuals

Flyying Colours Australian shoegaze quartet Flyying Colours have revealed excellent new single, power pop rush Big Mess.

A further taster for the band’s forthcoming second LP Fantasy Country due this Summer, Big Mess is the follow up to December’s woozy synth-assisted Goodtimes. Following a tranche of previously announced dates Down Under the Melbourne natives head to Europe for a score of shows kicking off in early September (see below).

A propulsive slice of dream pop led by the hallmark twin lead vocals of guitarists Brodie J Brümmer and Gemma O’Connor, the track is pushed forwards Andy Lloyd Russell’s fleet-footed drumwork and Melanie Barbaro’s Paul McCartney-esque bassline.

The video sees the band stage their own Great Aussie Bake Off (of sorts) as the preparations for creating a cake complete with on screen instructions leads to the Big Mess of the title.

Signed to cult shoegaze label Club AC30 in the UK, Fantasy Country is the band’s first album for Melbourne based indie Poison City Records.
