Another fantastic San Francisco band emerges from Mexican Summer, listen to them for free

Young Prisms When Bearded's Editor Gareth Main went to SXSW in Austin, Texas this year, he came away with six bands of note. One of the bands was Young Prisms - a San Francisco five-piece who played in front of about twenty people. They recently released a mind-blowing self-titled EP on fantastic indie label Mexican Summer (home of the much-hyped Washed Out), and have now done a session for Daytrotter - which invites touring bands in to record new and alternative versions of their songs - often unreleased - and gives the results out to the world for free. Some artists are new, some world famous and well established: Ian McCulloch of Echo & the Bunnymen even went out to the US solely to record a session for the site.

We'll be highlighting some of the best and most interesting sessions from Daytrotter over the coming weeks and months, in the meantime, click here to listen to Young Prisms.
